In the absence of new material (writing a book, you see) I am forced to reflect on old material. In this case, a reel of some highlights from my interview (as Paul Reddy) with John Mayer.
The Paul Reddy Show is one of my favorite projects. The full 30 minute show appears on the Heavier Things DualDisc.
Brian~ Found you through the Glenn Beck Show and always look forward to your posts. I am not a big Mayer fan, but have to go buy the CD so I can see this entire interview. Thanks for the laughs, can’t wait for the book.
hey Brian, good luck for the book! Just wanted to say hi from Cagliari, Italy. Not many fellas know about you …and that’s the kinda elitist thing I enjoy so much lately. You’re stuff for elitists.
Really, you’re killer, man. Wish you all the best!
Ciao from Sardinia!
Max
I’m a huge Mayer fan. Thanks for this. :)
Brian-
What I loved about this interview is how it was done to look all serious. You won’t BELIEVE how many people took this seriously. All I kept thinking through the whole thing was, “How the heck can they both keep such straight faces??” because I was laughing SO hard!!!
Kudos! And thanks, the dual disc purchase was worth it just for this.
Brian,
Well, at least you don’t have anything important or distracting happening in February. ; )
Aww, shucks. When I saw the “Paul Reddy” header, I immediately thought, “At last! A new installment of the Paul Reddy Show we’ve so patiently awaited!” Only to realize it is still the original. Surely you have some new celeb guests in your pocket… to interview when your book is finished, that is. Can’t wait.
[ Columbia footed the bill for Reddy, so in the absence of further funding it’d be hard to do another. Also, I have a chemistry with John that I don’t have with Courtney Love or Devo. -B. ]
Oh, my God. I don’t know how many times I Googled “Paul Reddy” “Charlie Rose” to see if someone else noticed the similarities. Brian, this interview was a work of genius.
The best part is the close: “John Mayer. Heavier Things.” Spot on.
