Twice is nice.

I started Banterist in 2003 after this conversation with my cat. It led to all sorts of good things.

I think this may be what first brought me to your site. I have a much, much smaller collection of grammar atrocities on mine. But I’ve ruled out ridiculing “condo’s” on the basis that it’s a contraction. Are you assuming that condo is such a common word on its own that it’s safe to assume that the apostrophe is erroneous?
In the first one, I’m sure that they are simply contracting “Office Condo IS for sale.”
Add to this vertible plague of misplaced apostrophes:
The ABC World News Tonight tease for the “Person of the Week” on the May 18 broadcast: “He’s won 12 Grammy’s”…
He’s won 12 Grammy is whats?
I wish I had a Tivo… but only for that moment.
Run’s is especially odious to me. Dunno why exactly. I just hate’s it.
great site!
George: I think you may be being a little too harsh on the Grammy people. In this case, “he’s” could be a contraction for “he has.” But thanks for the vigilance!
Helen, I think that the mis-used apostrophe in the Grammy-related entry was the one attached to the word “Grammy”, as in: “won 12 Grammy’s”.
How do I post apostrophe crimes in your website please? I have some “beauty’s”!
