Today is the release of the paperback edition of In the Event of My Untimely Demise. It's cheaper than the hardcover, softer, more portable, and even has bonus material you won't find in the hardcover. Why publishers do that, no one knows. You'd think lots of the hardcover buyers would revolt about the fact that they paid more and got less. Albeit, something that's not helpful in a bar fight because it lacks a reinforced cover.
The paperback version of In the Event of My Untimely Demise also has a new cover design. The book is no longer red like a fire engine. It looks like a lockbox. And they got rid of the subtitle "Twenty Things My Son Needs To Know" ironically, citing the same exact argument I made for not having a subtitle in the first place: The information in the book is for more than a son - it's universal.
There's a Facebook page
And follow me on Twitter, a social not-working utility that allows people to tell you what they're having for breakfast.
The book can be found in bookstores, of course, and book behemoth Amazon.
I may be biased, but I can't think of a better book to read during an alarming swine flu pandemic.
