If you've had the same email address for any length of time, odds are you've received an email from Africa offering you the chance to share in millions of dollars from some dead person's treasure horde. This is called the "419" con, or the "advance fee scheme."
These greedy, often stupid con artists do have success - or they wouldn't keep trying. But to anyone who knows their game they present an irresistible opportunity for entertainment.
The trick is to ruthlessly torment them, but not so much so that the communication ends. They are greedy and will stick around as long as they think they can con money out of you.
The following correspondence took place over nearly two months, with one of those con artists. A guy calling himself "Mary."
It begins as they all begin - an email from someone in Africa who wants to send you millions of dollars if you can assist them.

Subject: I WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU MARY CAMARA !!!
Date: October 1, 2004
Dearest,
I am Miss Mary Camara, 24years old,I am the only successor of the marriage and the only child my late parents Mr. and Mrs.Owen Camara. My father was a highly reputable business magnet (a cocoa merchant) who operated in the capital of Ivory coast during his days.
It is sad to say that he passed away mysteriously in a private hospital here in Abidjan Ivory Coast, after returning from one of his business trips abroad on
12th.Febuary 2003. Though his sudden death was linked or rather suspected to have been masterminded by an uncle of his who travelled with him at that time. But God knows the truth!
My mother died immediately when she gave birth to my junior Sister who also died then I was just 11 years old, and since then my father took me so special.
Before his death on February 12TH 2003 he called me and informed me that he has the sum of Nine million five hundred thousand United State Dollars.(USD$9.5 000,000) left in one of the leading security company here in Abidjan, Ivory coast West Africa.
He further told me that he deposited the money in my name, and finally issued me an instructions to search for the necessary legal documents to this fund and the
security company in his private safe which is inside his room which I did.
This is because I have suffered a lot of set backs as a result of incessant political crisis here in Ivory coast. The death of my father actually brought sorrow to my life.
Dear, I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this regards. Your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded.
Please, Consider this and get back to me as soon as possible.
I belive no one was born without problem and every propblem has a divine solution.
Thanks and may God bless you,for your kindiness.
Best regards
Mary Camara.
"Mary" is undoubtedly a man. He's playing the part of the sad and lonely orphan with a trunk full of cash. Mary wants help getting her "money" out of Ivory Coast - which will involve sending her money. And then more money. And then more money. They'll take as much as you'll give them, then they'll vanish.
A reply is crafted. The last name Bonnefois is from Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid:

Hi Miss Camara. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Even though I think cocoa is a bad drug, it's always wrong when your uncle masterminds your death.
You seem to have a lot of tragedy in your life. I will pray for you... there... I just finished. I hope you feel better now.
I will be happy to help you. I am very wealthy myself, and have made some good decisions when it comes to stocks. My trick is to buy them low and sell when the price goes up. That is how Wall Street does it,
At any rate, tell me what kind of assistance you need, and perhaps I can help you some more. I will also ask my wife to pray for you, on account of all your tragedy. I find that one person praying for me is okay, but if I can get 2-7 folks to pray, then I definitely get results. So I will ask the doorman as well. But don't pray for yourself because that doesn't count, at least in white I've learned.
Are you Christian? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I have a friend who built a mission in Ivory Coast, and I didn't know if he gave you my name. He can get you many copies of Watchtower magazine for reading.
Again, please let me know what I can do.

Subject: The Details And contact The security Company
Date: October 1, 2004
Dear Michael Bonnefois,
I received your mail this evening and decided to get back to you immediately. I appreciate your willingness to assist me over this investment program in your country.
However, as I lack knowledge in the business world I rely on your knowledge, wisdom, trust, sincerity, directives and honesty to invest this fund in a lucrative venture in your country. But can you precisely give me some details of the business where this fund will be invested? In line with my proposal this fund in question U.S$9.5 Million in a trunk box was deposited with a private security company here in Abidjan- Cote d_ivoire for safe keeping. But due to security reasons my late father registered the trunk box as family treasure containing family valuables not as money for security reasons.
The treasure is under the custody of the security company at a daily demurrage bill of 25 Dollars, though my late father made upfront deposit of USD$8,500 for the safe keeping but the upfront payment my late father made had expired for some months now. Precisely i am owing for the safe keeping of the treasure for some months which is obligatory to be paid before the release of my treasure.
Right now the topmost priority and first step to take is to plan with you on how best to lift this fund to your country while i will join you for the investment set up and settlement. Therefore prepare an urgent travel arrangement to meet with us here in Abidjan-Cote d_ivoire if possible as that will enable us:
1.To meet and know each other face to face to ensure some amount of confidence and trust between us.
2.Discuss the modalities of the business where this fund will be invested.
3.Go together to the security company to clear the fund and carry the fund to the bank if we will decide to lift it by transfer to an account you will provide.
4.Plan how you are going to assist me to join you over there after the fund have been lifted as i am like orphan and refugee without any travel documents.
However, I want you to contact the security company and introduce yourself to them as my guardian and apply for the claims with the deposit code no. UTS/2001/DHX 677 and the security code no.UTS/2001/DHX 676. Below is the contact informations of the security company :
UNICARGO TRUST AND SECURITIES S.a.r.l
TEL : 00225 07988694
FAX : 00225 21280040
Email : unicargo_securities@deliveryman.com
Director General : Dr. Idris Mustapha
Therefore, on no reason must you tell the security company the content of the box since my late father deposited the money in a box undisclosed.
Then i have mapped out 15% out of the total fund for this assistance to me and 5% to cover any miscellaneous expenses you might incure in the transaction such as your travel expenses, communication etc which will be re-imburse to you as soon as you arrive here and we clear the treasure from the security company.
Please Dear Michael Bonnefois, i appeal for your moral and financial support,co-operation and urgency to bring this transaction to manifestation as soon as possible because i am getting depressed here everyday due to the fact that i am living like orphan without any source of income and all my entire hope of survival is hinged on this fund in the security company.
Lastly, keep this transaction absolutely confidential for our both security reasons for all my entire hope of survival is hinged on the fund.
May God be with you.
Awaiting your urgent response
Miss Camara
And so the game starts. The trick is to drag this out as much as possible, waste the con's time, and have much fun at their expense. These guys are so focused on the money they think they'll be getting that they're very forgiving when you torment them. And they're kind of dumb to boot:
From: michael_b
Subject: Re: I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU MARY CAMARA!

Miss Camara:
That your father would put $9.5 million in a box is alarming! Most people put that kind of money into banks for safekeeping. That kind of money on its own in a box is terribly dangerous and very suspicious. I would not dare tell Dr. Mustapha because he sounds like a Muslim and they end to be crazy and declare jihad more often than the wind changes direction.
If you can pay my travel expenses I can meet you. I have not been to the Ivory Coast. Ironically - these are the names of two brands of soap. I would be happy to travel anywhere in Africa unless they require several immunization shots. In that case, I could always meet in a nice European town like Dusseldorf or Schwarzkopf.
To address your concerns:
Knowledge: I attended DeVry Institute, so enough of that!
Wisdom: Both my grandparents are alive, and they tell me their stories. I grow from these, as does anyone who listens to their grandparents talk about life, coupons and history.
Trust: I am very trustworthy. If you ask any of my friends they will tell you that I can be trusted with millions of dollars, or just to return their phone calls in a reasonable amount of time. Trust is trust no matter in what regard.
Sincerity: That's how I end all my letters. I am sincere and mean well.
Directives: Absolutely. I follow them.
Honesty: I think this is like trust, which I have already covered. And I do not lie because that's not Christian and I was brought up with strong values.
Miss Camara, this kind of wealth needs to be invested and not to sit in a trunk. I would suggest a blend of equities and mutual funds, some bonds (though interest rates are rising and that has an adverse effect). One stock in particular, Taseko Company which trades over the counter at TKOCF will be on the New York Stock Exchange soon enough. That should give the stock some extra credibility, and lift it from its current share price of $1.40. I think that has a lot of potential.
Also, Real Estate Investment Trusts and First Trust Deeds are good investments. As are apartments in major metropolitan areas. Oil and synthetics. But these are things we can talk about at length when we meet!
What is most important is getting that money out of Ivory Coast and away from Dr. Mustapha (Muslim or not, get that money away from him and into good Christian hands). Obviously your money will be better off in he United States, with a stable government than anyplace with troubles or French influence (the French are not to be trusted either).
So, for a course of action, Dear Camara, I will contact this Dr. Mustapha and will not tell him of the contents of the trunk. Instead I will pretend I am a relative of yours and seek the acquisition of the trunk. I will let you know what the Doctor tells me.
Also - you should get a passport if you want to get out of that place. I don't know how long it takes in Ivory Coast, but it's fiver weeks in the U.S, so you should get started.
Sincerety,
Michael
Contact is made with "the security company" - which is the same guy who is pretending to be Mary, but using a different email address. It should be noted that the email addresses these guys use are always disposables:

Hello Good Doctor Mustapha!
My name is Michael Bonnefois. I am a distant relative of Ms. Mary Camara, and I reside in Oklahoma, United States. I am a devoted Christian, father and grandfather, though I welcome all the world's religions and have no qualms with anyone. Allah be praised, if that's your thing. I don't judge.
Ms. Mary wishes to send to me a trunk in her possession, which contains a few worthless family heirlooms, but nevertheless means a great deal to her. She is sad and has no passport at the moment, so she can not travel with the trunk. Instead, we would like to arrange for shipment here to the United States (America). I can handle all the transport costs and necessary paperwork.
The Deposit code is UTS/2001/DHX 677 and the Security code UTS/2001/DHX 626. I hope this will be enough information to secure the trunk of modest family heirlooms.
Please let me know what else I will need to do in order to move this transaction along. Ms. Camara is very eager to complete this process, and I hope we can do so and make her happy!
Sincerity,
Michael Bonnefois

Hello Ms. Camara,
Do not be worried. I was away for the Capitulation Day holiday, but I have returned. I have a message from Doctor Mustapha which I have received and am reading at this moment.
The good news is that according to the letter, your father was very smart and arranged for diplomatic coverage. That means the trunk is protected and they will not open it, which is good because as I have said before, I think Dr. Mustapha might be Muslim and they can not be trusted. They say it is a religion of peace, but that is like saying an apple is a lemon (apples are not lemons here).
I will provide Dr. Mustapha with the necessary information. They have asked me to acquire a lawyer in Ivory Coast to assist in the process. I avoid lawyers because they tend to be bad people, but perhaps you know one in Abidjan who is trustworthy? Dr. Mustapha has offered to recommend a lawyer to me, but I do not trust him for obvious reasons (apple-lemon).
Also, in the United States "daddy" means someone who hires prostitutes, so I must ask that you stop calling me that name! I realize you are not familiar with the language here, so there is no problem, but I do feel uncomfortable to be called "daddy" so often. My friends call me "Mister B" or "Mr. Blinky" so either of those names will be fine. Just not "daddy" because I have never hired a prostitute because I am from a good Christian upbringing and frown on such things.
Thank you for recommending the bible verses, they are appreciated.
I will be in touch once Dr. Mustapha has communicated with me.
Do not be sad. Happy thoughts! You are in our prayers.
-Mister B.

Dear Blinky,
Thanks for your mail, infact i received your mail with a great happiness and joy also i am very glad to hear from you that you have received meassage from Dr.Mustapha.
How ever please note that anything your received from the security company do not fail to forward it to me to enable me fellow up what is going on between you and them.
Yes in religion aspect i think you are making a point.because the heart of a human being is unpredictable, like as you stated in your mail to me that (Apples are not Lemons) am well understood on that.
But understand that is true that all that giliters is not gold but all gold giliters, meaning that not all that apear good are really good and also not all that apear bad are really bad.
So what so ever some one is doing in this world you try and commit it in the hands of God to enble it works out fine, like how my father use to tell me when he was alive.
Also be assured that a Dog does not eat a bone hung on its neck, meaning that be carefull not to temper with what is put into your care.
You have to know that i trusted in you before releasing the contact of the security company to you because i saw your first mail,it sounds so responsable and God fearing, because he who fears God does not betray.
So Dear mr Blinky let us put trust in what ever we are doing till this trunk get in to your hands so that i will be coming over to your country for better living because am suffering here in ivory cost, and invest my own part of the money overthere.
Base on what Dr Mustapha told you, please i will appreciate you fellow up with them do what ever you are ask to do,because to the best of knowelege i think the diplomatic rule here mighty not be the same with the united states.
Moreover i heard what you said about Daddy i'm very sorry because i do not knew that, that means a bad addressive there in united states.
But here it means another simlar form of calling father.
Thanks for understanding the world of God,also still go through this verses again Psalm 37vs4-5 and Deuteronomy8vs18.
Thanks, my regards to your family and my prayers to you all.hoping to hear from you.

Subject: Time For GOD?????????BeSure To Scroll All The Way Down
Date: October 7, 2004
Dear B,
How is health today?hope the lord is in control, nevertherless underminding every we do in this world God first.
Meanwhile i will like you to go through this and get back to me with a word of God as servant of God as i can see.
We do like to have Him around during sickness...
And, of course, at funerals.
However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...
Because. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own.
May God forgive me for ever thinking...
That... there is a time or place where...
HE is not to be FIRST in my life.
We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us. If, You aren't ashamed to do this...
Please follow the directions.
Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father."
Not ashamed? Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!
Yes, I do Love God.
HE is my source of existence and Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and every day Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)
This is the simplest test.
If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you...
Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you! I don't think I know 10 people who would admit they love Jesus. Do You love Him?
THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord, I came, I stood with downcast eyes. For in his hands God held a book; It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
Now do you have the time to pass it on?
Make sure that you scroll through to the end.
Easy vs. Hard
Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?
Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?
Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?
Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e- ma il, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?
Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger?
Do you give up? Think about it . Are you going to forward this, or delete it?
Just remember-God is watching you. Prayer Wheel-Let's see the devil stop this one!
Here's what the wheel is all about. When you receive this, say a prayer for the person that sent it to you.... That's all you have to do....
There is nothing attached....
This is so powerful....
Do not stop the wheel, please....
Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one....
There are no costs, but wonderful rewards.. GOD BLESS!
May God keep you and bless you. If this doesn't give you chills, nothing will...this message is very true. Hope you are all as blessed as I was from this story. I wonder how many people will delete this without reading it because of the title on it?
There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak..."I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there, son?" "Just some old birds," came the reply.
"What are you gonna do with them?" I asked
"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time." "But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do?"
"Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy "They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."
The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"
"Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"
"How much?" the pastor asked again.
The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"
The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.
The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free.
Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story.
One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"
"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.
Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"
"And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked..
"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!"
"How much?" He asked again.
Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life."
Jesus said, "DONE!"
Then He paid the price.
The pastor picked up the cage he opened the door and he walked from the pulpit.
Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).
Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing?
Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.
I pray, for everyone who sends this to their entire address book, they will be blessed by God in a way special for them.
From your daughter,Mary.

Thank you Mary for the contact information for the lawyer. I will send him an email today (cheaper than calling, I'm sure!) and will let you know what he says. I am sure you are very eager to resolve this so hopefully they will respond to me with haste (fast). I trust Barrister Forster is someone you can trust. It's funny, because in the US we don't use "barrister" we use "lawyer" but they are the same thing - usually evil and mean-spirited (this is a joke!).
I hope you are not too depressed and hope that you are feeling well. Have you heard of the singer Clay Aiken? I like him a lot. If you can find his album in Ivory Coast I would listen to it to cheer you up. That and prayer!
I can send you the album if you want.

Subject: Request for Assistance
Date: October 7, 2004
Hello Barrister (we say "lawyer" here in the US),
I have been contacted by a distant relative in Ivory Coast to help me secure some family heirlooms for her that are being held by a security company. In order to expedite the transfer I will need the assistance of a barrister (we say "lawyer") to arrange all the necessary papers with the authorities in Ivory Coast, if you have them.
I have a few questions:
1. Does this arrangement sound legitimate? I do not want to break any laws by shipping a trunk from the Ivory Coast to Oklahoma.
2. What does Ms. Camara look like? Was she sad? She has been sad lately.
3. How much money will it cost for the paperwork and your services? I will need to arrange with Mary to pay you.
4. Thank you (not a question).
I hope yo hear from you soon as Mary is very eager to get the trunk out of the posession of the holding company (they may be Muslims).
Thank you barrister (lawyer) for your assistance, if you choose to provide it. If not, then thank you for your time.

Dear Barrister (lawyer) Mark:
Thank you for the quick response. I had no idea barristers (lawyers) in third-world countries were as expensive as those in the US!
I will contact Ms. Camara and let her know your charges. Hopefully she will be able to get you a check or money order (if you have money orders). Or maybe that is what a MoneyGram is. She will probably contact you very quickly as she is fairly unhappy in her current situation and hopes to rectify it. If you do talk to her please be of a pleasant demeanor as she is, as I've mentioned, a little sad about the loss of her father and such things.
Sincerely,

Hello Mary! I hope all is well and that you have a delightful weekend. I'm going to see a new movie called "Team America" from the creators of South Park.
I have received the information from Barrister (lawyer) Mark. He requires a check in the amount of $1650. Or MoneyGram, whatever that is.
This is what he wrote me:
1) CONSULTATION FEE $500
2) FILLING FEE $550
3) AFFIDAVIT $250
4) NOTARISATION FEE $350
THE 1-4 CALCULATED TO $1,650 SHOULD BE SENT BY MONEYGRAM ON THE NAME OF MY SECRETARY :
MISS. LYDIA MIREILLE APRACOU
As you can see, his English isn't very good. Do you think he's a good lawyer? He can't spell or use grammar well, which makes me worried. And he uses all capital letters. But if you think he's a good lawyer (barrister) then I trust your judgement.
Also, he seems to be very expensive, especially for a law practice in Ivory Coast - if these charges are too expensive we should perhaps look somewhere else.
Let me know what you think Mary. Have a lovely weekend. Do you have a DVD player?

Hello Mary. Please let me know as soon as you have paid the lawyer and we can continue from there. Hopefully we can get this resolved for you as soon as possible!
Make sure to not pay the lawyer in cash, as they can not be trusted. Use a check or credit card with a reputable company (Visa/Mastercard or American Express). The Discover Card gives you 1% cash back but most people do not accept it.

I contacted you to help me see that this box deposited by my late father is retrieved out from the custody of the security company and the neccessary things to be done to see that the box is claimed requires money and you really know that if I have all the finance to run this transaction, I would not have contacted you to help me.

Good Day Sir,please i write to verify from you may be if you not interested to afford this help to a little kid like me,i had wrote several times but you ingnore my mail.
Seems you know that you are not interested or neither been capable to help me out of this then why have you decided to put me in such a high preasure and thinking all the time, forgotten that such a situation mighty cause me high blood preasure without knowing that am too small in such condition.
But all the same that is the condition of an orphan, had it been am not fatherless and mother i don't think it will be like this to me.
Please if you're not interested any longer you better tell me so that i will not be bothering my self on you.then i will look for another person who is serious and capable to help.because we're fighting for a very big huge amount of money which will benefit for both of us.
REMEMBER THE WORDS OF YOUR MOUTH AT THE FIRST STEAGE !!!
I find that one person praying for me is okay, but if I can get 2-7 folks to pray, then I
definitely get results. So I will ask the doorman as well. But don'r pray for yourself because that doesn't count, at least in white I've learned.
Are you Christian? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I have a friend who built a mission in Ivory Coast, and I didn't know if he gave you my name. He can get you many copies of Watchtower magazine for reading.
Again, please let me know what I can do.

Let me know when the fighting slows down because the banks here will not let me send money to a war zone. Do you have a PayPal account?
I hope you stay safe and that your President Gogoboots survives the French attack, if that is what you want. I don't know much about politics in Ivory Coast, but we all know about France. They can't be trusted, but they have wonderful cheeses and wines. It's a terrible paradox.

Hi Mary. The problem is the black people in Ivory Coast have caused difficulty with international money transfers. Because of their war with France there has been a freeze on asset transfers, or that is what the nice, fat lady at Western Union told me. Also, I will need an address for Pastor Njoku before they will let me transfer money. They said the people in Ivory Coast might be finished rioting after President Gogoboots calms them down, but the news here has been saying that Africa is hopeless, which is what Richard Nixon used to say all the time. I have never been, but the pictures on the website you showed me make me scared to go there because all the people look crazy. I hope the man lying in the street was okay. It looked like a lot of his head had been removed. Do you know him? Is he alright? I will pray for him... Okay, I'm finished.
If you want to contact me, call me at work. My number is 310-777-3456. I work at a company called AOL/Moviefone, so when you hear my name on the message, press the number 7 key and you will be transferred to my office.
I hope we can resolve this soon, because it's getting long and I fear that people will lose interest.

Hi Mary. You need to not be so pushy. I am very busy, and you are asking a tremendous favor of me, so if you'll stop gnawing at my heels that would be greatly appreciated. My grandmother has entitilitus and my brother is having surgery on his leg today, so you'll excuse me if I don't go rushing to the phone to call your war-torn western African republic. Apparently you do not read the messages I send you, which is unfortunate because they are mildly entertaining. As I stated before, because the black people in Ivory Coast are attacking the French, there is a hold on money transfers from Western Union. Once the black people stop attacking the French, or once President Gogoboots is ousted, then I assume I will be able to send your pastor the funds.
In the meantime, I have said you can call me in my office at 310-777-3456. I work at a company called Moviephone. When you hear my name, press number 7.

Dear Sir,
You have to understand, not that i'm pushy as you can see in this issue of a thing you are too big to be small.
Everytime you keep on complaining about the black people and the war between france and Ivory Coast, you need to understand that the war had ended eversince. Then tell me how the war attack had been the problem of this transfer?
Been busy all the while does not makes someone not to be enble to made a transfer understand that.
Moreover the war you're talking about had been stoped, every problem has been settled.I mean there is peace between france and Ivory Coast now listen carefully on cnn news everyday i think you're missing a lot on world news.
Point of correction the name of our President is GBAGBO not Gogoboots.
Meanwhile i had been trying to reach you on phone but the number you gave to me is not passing through so is either you call me on pastor's number or you give me a direct line to get you.
Hoping to hear from you as soon as you finally send the money to my pastor and please keep me informed when ever you made the transfer as to enble me act fast in settling the lawyer for the procurements of the documents.

Well, they say there is still fighting between Gbogogo's people, and some black people, and France. But, anyway, I will ask once again with the Arab at the money exchange store and see if he will now allow me to send money. He told me they were forbidden to send money during the war with France, but if you say it is over then perhaps it will be okay. Do I need to send it in Ivory Coast currency? What's that caled? Here it is dollars.
I will probably buy a cat tomorrow. I like pets. I had a dog named Oyster once. I thought it was funny to name a dog Oyster because dogs don't swim, except the ones that do.
A woman in my office was at the French Ivory Coast, which they call Coat De Voira. How close are you to French Ivory Coast? Is that where the war started? I'm sick of the French attacking people.
I will check on the transfer in the morning. If I call Ivory Coast, what is the time difference? Here it is zero hours.

Subject: I am confused!
Date: November 17, 2004 1:26:57 PM EST
Why when I call your number in Ivory Coastal do I get French people? Every time I call they answer with French- and I don't speak it! I keep asking if Mary is there, and they just keep saying French to me. I don't know if they are swearing at me or welcoming me into their house.
Is this a trick? I am confused. (See message subject) Anyway, it is interesting that you say there is no war, because here in America they are showing videos of angry mobs yelling, and saying that your dictator President Gbogoho attacked nine French men and killed them. Then they said that the French destroyed your entire airport, which is very funny because it must be so small. What I don't understand is, if your army is so small, why Bush hasn't tried to bring you democracy.
However, I am still confused with the French people answering your phone. Can you tell them to speak English? They sound crazy.
The Arab at the money store says I can send the money even though there is fighting. He said there is always fighting in Africa, and they don't mind. BUT, I can not use the money to buy you weapons or explosives. It has to be for a legitimate cause. And he said I have to be careful because Gogoboots is a dictator he said, and a cannibal who can read your thoughts if he stands near you.
SOON THE TRUNK WILL BE SAFE! And you can hopefully escape from those crazy people in Ivory Coastal, and their French war.
Pray, pray, pray!

I do not understand - does he work for the French in thios war? Why does he speak French? You can trust him, yes? Mark Njoku sounds a little strange for a name, but if you say you know him then I trust your judgement.
Christmas in Oklahoma!
Regardsly,

Meanwhile time or no time does not matters in this transfer, you can call any time you want we're alert.
And nevertherless don't embrass my pastor ok.
Don't write me again if you are not capable to handle this transaction and stop deciving your self not me,because i know God is on my side ok.

Dear sir,
I think you deserve it,when you can not prove your words by action as a real bussiness partinership.
Every time you keep on talking about one thing or the other, which is not suppose while you know that this transaction has to be finalize by now.
Simple to send the money as you have already done every arrangement on how to send it as you said i don't know, you're there writting nasty mails which you are too big for that.
If you know you can not help me you better tell direct not to be there given one excuse or the other all the time.
I think i will advise you to stop wasting your time in writting me,seems you are not capable to handle this or you don't have money to do this transaction.
Bye for now.
Mary.

At this point, the love was gone. “Mary” got a note that she had actually been under investigation for wire fraud, and then his email accounts were notified and subsequently closed. We can only hope he incurred some expense when calling Moviefone in Los Angeles, and lost some sleep over giving his mobile telephone and addresses out.

Beautiful, well executed!
Do tell how did you find out about Mary's eventual fate?

Oh dear, Blinky. How can you have been so cruel to poor Orphan Mary? All the while claiming to be a good Christian man. I will pray for you... there, I'm finished.

My cousin got the scammers to convert to the "Detroit Church of Rock and Roll" under the Pastor Kurt Cobain. They had to do some weird ritual and then e-mail him pictures.

I was at work laughing my butt off!!! I had to tell my dept head to go on your site and read this. I just very recently discovered this site thru awfulplasticsurgery.com. If I didn't like to look at already beautiful people who ruin their looks, I never would have found you. You really have a gift. Thanks for the laughs.

Fantastic! Prompted me to do the same to "jonothan Mandela", only not got much time on hands so did it on second email. Asked him to phone my office to gain "my trust", gave him UK Gay chatline number @ £1.50 min, he called! now says I have left the wrong number! Wonder how much THAT costs from Nigeria!
